Casting Your Nets On The Other Side

John 21:1-14

Casting Your Nets On The Other Side
Scripture: John 21: 1-14
Key Verse: John 21: 6

INTRODUCTION
The disciples didn't know what to after the resurrection.
They returned to what they knew; fishing.
Jesus appeared to these disciples again.

JESUS IS OUR SUPPLY
        Jesus used His own fish.
We don't earn our supply; we receive it.
Jesus still cares about his disciples after the resurrection.

JESUS IS CONSISTENT
Peter, John and James first saw Jesus while fishing.
Peter saw the miracle and knew Jesus was on the shore.
Peter still had to swim to Jesus.

ONLY BY THE WORD OF JESUS CAN WE SUCCEED
The fishermen needed Jesus to speak before they succeeded.
"Our efforts, if devoid of God's word, cannot succeed.  Our
efforts, if blessed by God's word, cannot help but succeed."

TAKE AWAY
Jesus is who matters in a church.
We must surrender to his word.
Only then do we labor according to His word.
