If you believe you are ready to start following Jesus, there are a few things that you must admit before God as well as ask Him for: That He is God, that you have sinned, that Jesus is the Son of God, and that you would like Jesus to save you from your sins. If you can confess those things and truly mean them in your heart, you can become saved from the wrath of sin and follow Jesus as a child of God. Below is an example prayer that can be used to express these thoughts.
I believe that you are the true God and that you love me. I have sinned against You in both my thoughts and actions. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he will save me from the spiritual punishment of my sins.
Will you save me and be my Lord? I will spend the rest of my life living for you to the best of my abilities.
Thank you. Amen
If you have prayed a prayer of salvation before, but have never been baptized in water, we believe this is the next step in following Jesus. Water baptism isn't necessary for salvation, but it does allow the believer to 1) confess publically that they are now following Jesus and 2) symbolically be "washed" of their sins and begin a new life with Jesus.
Every Christian person should be a part of a spiritual community; a church. If you do not have a church home, we invite you to visit us on a Sunday morning. Church, should be a place where imperfect people come together to encourage one another and worship the perfect God. We don't want to embarrass you, pressure you, or hit you up for money. We just want to get to know you.
Becoming a member of a church is a big step in a Christian's life. When we become a member of a church, we are saying that we want to be more than just consumers at church, but servants as well. We want to use our gifts, talents, and offerings to help a church fulfill the mission God has given it.
Members are asked to financially support the church, serve in some capacity at the church, and take an active role in the direction of the church during business meetings.
